Why only the Nordics?
Because moves to Denmark, Norway, and Finland have their own grammar — winter scheduling, ferry vs. road decisions, customs paperwork that does not always match the EU norm — and we wanted to do those moves well rather than every move adequately. We do not move people to Spain. There are excellent firms that do.
How do you actually quote?
A short conversation, then a home visit where it makes sense. We quote a single fixed figure that includes packing, transit, customs, and delivery — not a base price plus surprises. If the move grows in scope after the survey, we tell you in writing before any change is locked in.
Are you fully insured?
Yes. Comprehensive goods-in-transit cover up to £100,000 across the whole journey, including the storage segments at either end. Higher cover is arranged on request for art, instruments, or single high-value items.
Do you handle customs paperwork after Brexit?
We handle the export declaration in the UK, the import declaration at the Nordic end, and any transfer-of-residence relief application that applies to your move. You will be asked for proof of your destination address, passport, and (for transfer of residence) evidence that the items have been in your possession for at least six months.
Can you store items at either end?
Yes — secure storage in the UK and through partner depots in Copenhagen, Oslo, and Helsinki. We use this most often when a UK sale and a Nordic completion will not align. It is included in the quote, charged by the week if it runs over an agreed window.
Is winter a bad time to move to the Nordics?
Not at all — but it is a different time. December and January road windows are shorter and ferry schedules thin out. We will quote a winter move at the same level of care; we will not run a moving truck through a Norwegian mountain pass in a January storm. The decision is always made with you.
What does a typical move cost?
A two-bedroom move runs in the low four figures; a four-bedroom family move with art and a piano sits in the mid four figures; a phased second-home furnishing across three trips will land in the upper four figures total. Quote ranges in the case-study panels on this page give you a feel — your own quote will be specific to your house.
